Dr Pepper was born as a medicinal remedy and then became one of the most loved soft drinks in the USA. Its history began in 1885 and today its recipe is still a secret. What is certain is that it contains 23 flavors and most of its fans say that there is definitely cherry in it. The charm of Dr Pepper also derives from all the "mystery" that has always surrounded it and which has made it, among other things, a true pop icon. It was invented by a pharmacist originally from Brooklyn, Dr. Charles Alderton. The drink was born in Waco, Texas, and when it started to become popular it was renamed “Waco”. It was later renamed with the name we all know today, probably with the intention of making people think of a particularly healthy drink, a typical custom at the time. Dr Pepper is so famous that it even has its own museum in the Texan city where it all began.
